About Us

We made Sonoma County Local to be a marketplace that connects consumers to local producers in Sonoma County, California.  Buying locally helps our local economy and reduces the cost and environmental impact of trasnportation.  We don't get too hung up on borders, so the Sonoma-adjacent edges of Mendocino, Lake, Napa and Marin counties are OK too.

We currently retain a 20% commision on sales made through the marketplace, to cover hosting and transaction-processing costs.  PayPal's trransaction fees are a base-minimum + percentage, which on a $5 transaction amounts to 13.2%; the percentage is less on larger transactions.

Sonoma County Local is a project of Geekwerx LLC, a Sonoma County-based Internet services and online technology consulting company.
